Uniting Healthy Living for Seniors will host Love Your Brain Day at Corella Cottage Day Centre on Tuesday 23 February.

Research by Alzheimer’s Australia shows that dementia is one of the most pressing health concerns for older Australians, with more than 342,800 Australians living with dementia. Yet memory loss is not a normal part of ageing, there are things anyone can do to love their brain and improve their thinking.

Dr Sarah Cope, Uniting’s Dementia Practice Lead will share insights and ideas on how we can take on dementia, “It takes a team approach to take on dementia. Everyone needs to be involved, family, friends, and the community. Being active, joining groups like a choir, participating in a dance group, or going for a morning walk are all activities that can help curb the onset or improve symptoms.”

Alzheimer’s Australia’s Memory Van will pay a visit, and music will fill Uniting Corella Cottage with Corella’s very own choir voices. There will be free beauty treatments, and also be plenty to eat and drink, with a sausage sizzle.

Uniting Healthy Living for Seniors at Corella Cottage is hosting Love Your Brain Day to share tips and tricks on how you can improve your thinking.
