Young people that may be in a position of disadvantage, vulnerability and isolation often find themselves in violent, neglectful home environments. They may be homeless or at risk of homelessness.
We offer a range of mentor programs and services for young people who find themselves in these positions and need a helping hand.
When a young person leaves care, they shouldn’t have to do it alone. We’re here to support them in that “next step” of life. Our aftercare programs are here to help with just that. We offer practical assistance and emotional support for young people (aged 15–25 years) or adults who left Burnside in former years.
Aftercare services are also available for young people who have left or are thinking of leaving (non-Burnside) out-of-home care and who require assistance moving to independent living.
If you formerly lived on site at North Parramatta when Burnside operated as a Children's Home, help is also available to rediscover their history.
Uniting provides an outreach casework support service, working collaboratively with you to support your life goals and help you towards independence.
The young people who participate in our program do so voluntarily and we work within a strengths-based, goal-orientated solution focused framework.
We are located in South West Sydney and the southern region of NSW.
