Options for Youth and Families helps young people and their parents to build healthy relationships. Young people face unique challenges including struggling with boundaries, limits and consequences, issues at school or at home, self-worth and relationship difficulties.
How we can help
It’s all about you. That’s why we tailor our counselling sessions to your needs. Counselling appointments are one hour and can be weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on your situation.
Our sessions are completely confidential and the right to privacy is protected. Information will only be disclosed with your permission or if required by law (for example, to protect someone from harm).
Our Uniting counsellors are professionally trained family therapists with the skills necessary to help young people and their families build healthy relationship habits, manage conflict and share positive communication.
Our counselling program can assist with issues such as:
- Conflict between parents and young people or other family members
- Coping with separation or divorce
- Adjusting to life in a blended or step family
- School and education decline
- Substance abuse
- Bullying and social problems
- Moving out of home
- Stress and anger management
- Trauma, grief and loss
- Anxiety and depression.
