Uniting offers a range of practical workshops and seminars that provide families with the information and tools to positively interact with one another.

New Families Parenting after Separation Group

Supporting parents and children through separation, with strategies to help manage conflict and deal with children’s emotions and behaviours through this difficult time.

Duration: 6 weeks

Joining us: You can be self-referred or court referred. You will be assessed for eligibility to join the group.

Connect Kids

A fun, supportive group which aims to help kids adjust to some of the difficulties of separation and divorce.

Duration: 8-10 weeks

Joining us: You can be self-referred or referred through other services.

Connect Kids: Parents Group

Connect Kids for parents runs alongside the Connect Kids group. We support separated parents experiencing high conflict or violence during separation, who wish to learn strategies to help their children deal with this conflict.  This group is particularly helpful for parents attending court.

Duration: 8-10 weeks

Joining us: Children need to be part of Connect Kids Group. You can be self-referred or referred through other services.

Jigsaw

A group for kids whose parents have separated. It aims to help kids understand that they’re not alone and to develop strategies and skills to manage all the changes that can occur after separation.

Duration: 6 weeks

Joining us: You can be self-referred or referred through other services.

Talking with your kids

In this seminar we teach parents skills and strategies relating to how to talk with their kids about difficult issues arising out of separation. We also help parents become more aware of how children can become trapped in separation conflict.

Duration: 3 hour seminar

Joining us: You can be self-referred or referred through other services.

Parenting Teens

Adolescence can be a challenging time. This informal and conversational workshop is designed to help parents build positive relationships with teenagers. We cover mMeeting your teenager’s needs, setting healthy boundaries, dealing with rebellious behaviour, nurturing your teenager's emotional health and helping them make responsible choices.

Duration: 3 weeks
