Uniting

Community consultation

A Community Consultation Committee was established to provide a forum for information sharing and advice about Uniting Medically Supervised Injecting Centre (MSIC), and drug related issues in the Kings Cross local community. The committee continues to meet three times a year, with its vision being to create a community partnership to reduce drug related harm to all people in the Kings Cross area. It aims to promote a sense of openness and transparency about the work of the centre by:

  • Providing a forum for sharing knowledge
  • Assisting in developing strategies to ensure the community is kept up-to-date with what’s happening at the centre
  • Monitoring the ongoing impact of the Uniting MSIC on residents and businesses
  • Providing feedback to the people and groups they oversee, on the work of the centre.
